The workshop takes place from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

In the morning, we’ll lay the foundation for your plan by addressing your goals, audiences, calls to action and messaging. In the afternoon, we’ll build your strategy on that foundation, reviewing marketing tactics, budgeting and resources, and your next steps.

This will be a highly interactive experience, tailored especially to those participants in the room.

8:30 – 9:00 a.m.

Registration. We’ll serve light breakfast pastries, coffee, etc.

9:00 – 9:30 a.m.

Workshop Overview and Introduction. We’ll meet each other and share our goals for the workshop.

9:30 – 10:00 a.m.

Marketing Goals, Benchmarks and Situation Analysis. We’ll review your goals and set benchmarks for measuring your success. Then we’ll take a look at what you should know about the environment you’ll be marketing in.

10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Target Audiences, Calls to Action, and Framing the Message. We’ll forget the mythical “general public” and hone in on the audiences that are most important to your success. You’ll learn how to create personas that you can use to drive decision-making for the rest of your strategy. And you’ll focus on what you need people to do, what benefits they receive by doing it, and what barriers may stand in the way.

10:00 – 10:50 a.m. Target Audiences, Segments and Personas

10:50 – 11:05 a.m. Break

11:05 – 12:30 a.m. Calls to Action, Framing the Message

12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Lunch Break. We insist that you take a break for lunch away from the workshop. This will be an intensive training and you’ll want and need a break! We will suggest locations for lunch.

1:30 – 2:55 p.m.

Strategies and Tactics. We’ll review many of the common strategies and tactics found in nonprofit marketing plans. Then, with examples in hand, you’ll have the opportunity to draft the right strategies and tactics to achieve your marketing goals.

2:55 – 3:10 p.m.

Break. We’ll provide an afternoon snack to keep you fueled up!

3:10 – 3:30 p.m.

Time, Talent, and Treasure. We’ll discuss what resources you need to implement your plan and how to obtain them.

3:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Your Next 30 Days. With your plan in hand, we’ll break it down into a concrete to-do list for the next month.

4:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Q & A and Next Steps. We’ll answer any remaining questions and talk about the follow-up coaching calls that are included with your workshop registration.
